About Chandratal Lake
Chandratal is a crescent-shaped high-altitude lake near Kunzum pass that changes colour from blue to emerald through the day — the jewel of the Spiti–Manali route.
Chandratal lies in the Lahaul side of the Kunzum pass (4,590 m). Campsites are set up near the lake in summer, and a short walk takes you to the shore.
The road is open only from June to October once the Kunzum pass and Batal road are cleared of snow. It is not accessible in winter.
