About Rakchham
Rakchham is a peaceful village between Sangla and Chitkul, named after the giant rocks (rak) and the bridge (chham) over the Baspa — loved for its riverside camps and meadows.
Rakchham lies in a wide part of the Baspa valley, surrounded by pine and birch forest, waterfalls and snowy ridges. The Rakchham-Chitkul wildlife sanctuary is home to Himalayan black bear, musk deer and the snow leopard.
It has excellent riverside camps and cottages, making it a quieter alternative to Sangla for a night stay.
