About Kaza
Kaza is the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti and the base for Key monastery, Kibber, Langza, Hikkim, Komic and Chicham — with cafés, homestays and fuel in a dramatic cold desert.
Kaza sits on the banks of the Spiti river, surrounded by barren mountains and high villages. It has the last fuel pump before Manali, ATMs, a hospital, and many cafés and homestays.
From Kaza you can explore the Key monastery, the world’s highest post office at Hikkim, the fossil village of Langza, Komic, Kibber and the Chicham bridge — all within 15–25 km.
Kaza is reachable all year via Kinnaur (NH-5). The Manali side via Kunzum pass is open only from June to October.
