About Langza
Langza is famous for its golden Buddha statue overlooking the Chau Chau Kang Nilda peak, and for the marine fossils found in its fields — proof that Spiti was once under the Tethys sea.
Langza is a small village of mud houses at 4,400 m. Ammonite fossils millions of years old are found around the village, and are sold by locals (please buy, don’t dig).
The large golden Buddha statue is a stunning sight at sunset and under the Milky Way at night.
