About Reckong Peo
Reckong Peo is the district headquarters of Kinnaur, with the main bus stand, markets, ATMs and hospital — and the base of Kinnaur Taxi for pickups across Kinnaur and Spiti.
Peo is where most journeys into upper Kinnaur and Spiti begin. You will find fuel, ATMs, pharmacies and the Inner Line Permit office here, along with dhabas serving thukpa, momos and rajma-chawal.
The town has a large Kalachakra Buddhist temple with a Buddha statue facing Kinnaur Kailash, and the Chandika Devi temple at Kothi is only 3 km away.
Reckong Peo is our home base — taxis are available 24×7 for local sightseeing, airport and railway transfers and long-distance trips.
